Psychoeducation is a human sciences discipline that assists people who present adjustment difficulties that affect behaviour.
Psychoeducation focuses on interventions in the individual's environment (home, school, daycare, hospital, etc.) to observe, assess and understand the individual's difficulties and help him or her cope. Activities adapted to individual needs are proposed and put into practice as part of an intervention plan or program. Lastly, the efficiency of interventions is assessed.
Psychoeducation may be of help in a wide variety of situations. You may wish to consult for yourself, your child, your family, or a loved one. Psychoeducation is for people of all ages, including those with mental health issues. It assists people experiencing adjustment problems such as:
The main goal of my work is to offer young people and families help that meets their needs using various tools and techniques.
I am motivated by a desire to help people struggling with behavioural and emotional difficulties. After completing an initial bachelor's degree at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in psychoeducation from the Université de Montréal.
